Two outfits, one post

I've been a little slow on the outfit posts lately. Mostly I just haven't felt that inspired. Not that these outfits are particularly great, but I felt good on both of these days. Contrary to how it may seem, I don't wear these shoes everyday. They are comfortable enough to, but I do switch it up!
I also really dig this hairstyle for summer. I braided two pigtails, and then pinned them across my head. Looks so much cooler than what it really is, and I always get comments about it when I wear it like this. Plus, I like being able to put it up and then not having to deal with it all day. Low no maintenance is my style.
Wearing Joe's jeans, Dolce vita flatforms, H&M top, michael kors watch, and thrifted necklace.
Not sure why I look so sassy in this photo. Dolce Vita flatforms,  forever 21 striped dress, Juicy sunglasses
 I love these shoes!

Hope you all had a happy Monday!

Levis jeans, Tahari flats, Wilfred tank, mommy asummeruniform's cardigan, gifted necklace, marc by marc jacobs purse.

I realize that my first outfit post is a super casual one, but this is the sort of stuff I wear on a day to day basis! I wore this to an appointment and to laze around on this rainy, rainy day. The jeans are a little baggier than I'm used to, but I love them for being so comfy. I also realized how difficult it is to take your own pictures! I know a lot of the more well known bloggers have boyfriend accomplices who take their photos. While I did see mine today, I asked my brother to take this picture (which explains the downward angle of the shot. He's 6'3!)

The lipstick I'm wearing is Nars Matte Lip Pencil in Dolce Vita. I am absolutely in love with both the colour and feel of this lipstick. Didn't understand the hype until I bought it! The necklace is a gift from a friend and I absolutely love it. It's one of those unique gifts that really shows how well the person knows you, and the fact that I can so easily incorporate it into my warddrobe shoes how well she knows me. I also just got the shoes, and they are giving me some serious blisters, but they go so well with everything that I'm going to just deal with it for now!

Have a great week!

Happy Days

I'm in the middle of exams right now and have been pretty stressed out and tired. I decided to go for a walk by the lake today and remind myself of some things that make me happy. It's so easy to get closed up in what is making us feel less than great, so I try to pick one thing I want to do for myself every day, to feel a little better and to remind myself that I'm worth the time! Blogging has been one of those things for me over the past couple of weeks, but going for walks, watching a favourite TV show (Man Men!), knitting, doing some yoga or going for a run also make my day! And of course, there are the obligatory material things that make me smile as well!

Mint nail polish with sparkly ring fingers has definitely brightened up my day. Sparkles and glitter always have a way of making me feel happier. This sparkly nailpolish I have on top looks like a disco in a class jar. It's wonderful.
Both these shoes, and the fact that it was warm enough today to wear them are also making me happy. It was nice to take a break today and get outside, and it was even nicer to be greeted with some warmer weather before the rain came down later this afternoon!
Despite myself, I really love when things match. I received the bracelet as a belated birthday present and was extremely pleased when I realized it matched my rose gold watch. I ware them together all the time now!
It was nice to wear some makeup today! I haven't been anywhere except my bed, the gym, or an exam room this week, so to put on mascara and lipstick felt nice. I put my hair up with this scarf while studying, and really liked how it looked.
Looking at pictures of my dog Theo never fails to make me happy. See you in 10 days buddy!
Looking forward to getting outside more. This is a winter picture, but it reminds me of home and how in just a little over a week I'll be out of stress mode and ready for studying! For now, I have to get back to it, but happy Monday everyone!

Waiting, wishing

Today I braided my hair and thought about summer. I'm not really one for extreme heat (spring and fall are my favourite seasons), but during studying for my exams all I can really think about is doing absolutely nothing. Although I won't be travelling this summer (except, hopefully, a trip to NYC!), some of the best times can be found close to home. These are some pictures I took last summer so that we can all look forward to sunnier days to come!
